I didn't really have consoles or any video games outside of my Gameboy SP until early high school, but my family did have a Gateway PC that I was allowed to use a bit each day. I absolutely adored these kinds of things growing up. The Henry Stickmin Collection is an interactive flash animation series that is well worth its retail price, due to the loads of unpredictable hilarity it rides on and the flirtation with fans of popular video games we know much of.

There are secrets waiting to be found, as hinted by the achievements for every scenario, which further encourages exploring and trying out alternative choices. The scenes are riddled with easter eggs referring to historical video games and internet memes, making Henry Stickmin series quite a treat for cultured gamers. Keep your eyes sharp, video game nerds and fans, because details matter even in this simplistic looking flash game. I dig the fact how the last chapter features scenarios based on your previous accomplishments, so you choose your head-canon or simply enjoy them all.
The choices can also lead to different endings for each chapter, which helps to see the scenario from different perspectives and immerse in a world with a large and memorable cast to some extent. Learning soon enough that the obvious choices doesn't always give the desired results, it shows that this game's unpredictable nature and silly randomness makes for hilarious experience, making failures rather rewarding and inviting.
